Sterling Silver Pendants 

A walk in the silence of the Yukon forest is always a nurturing experience.  The wisdom of the trees speaks to the soul, and I always come away feeling a reverence for their beauty.  

As I sit down to create a piece, I use a jeweller’s saw to cut a shape through the sterling silver, each one as unique and one-of-a-kind as the trees in the forest.  Solid silver is then soldered onto the back, after which a special treatment is applied to darken the silhouette.  A final step permanently seals the image in place.

Another favourite style I use to depict the beauty of Yukon trees is with the intricate “cut through” method. Each of these pieces is cut from 18-gauge silver, 1mm in thickness. A tiny blade is required to craft each piece, resulting in a more delicate pendant.

Each pendant is my way of sharing the Yukon forest with the person who wears it, and the same meditative peace I experience within nature is yours to carry with you wherever you go. 

Mammoth Ivory 

I particularly enjoy the privilege of working with mammoth ivory.  The pieces of ivory which have been incorporated into my art are from a 40,000-year-old woolly mammoth tusk, discovered in the Dawson City area. Extinct for more than 11,000 years, these beasts left behind treasures still being discovered by miners and locals in present day Yukon.  Paired with select gemstones, they create a stunning setting of historical significance.
